Compensated Day Denial

I don't understand how when boards have crews and no one laid off on pool and guys available on extra board still get denied. And yet when the boards are fried like they've been every weekend still can't get a compensated day. But yet there's guys with compensates days and get to extended them when the boards are fried. But I can't even get one day when boards actually have available crews on them now. Really getting tired of this.

The Company will never staff the boards to allow for reasonable amount of layoffs. Simply another violation of our agreements.

I strongly urge you to put in a claim. If we collectively and consistently put in claims it “may” eventually help but it will most definitely be a long and tough road.

Side Letter #2 reads as follows:

” During the parties' discussions UTU voiced concerns that employees laying off could end up in a disciplinary proceeding should the employee fail to be available as prescribed or agreed, through no fault of their own. UTU further explained that consideration must be given to employees that are extremely ill or hospitalized unexpectedly. The same consideration should be extended to employees whose immediate family members become extremely ill or hospitalized unexpectedly.

This letter will confirm the parties commitment to work together to avoid disciplinary proceedings or abuse of these considerations for employees in the above described dilemmas, provided the involved employees provide valid documentation for themselves or their family member(s) regarding the incident(s) or matter(s).”

No because I was laid off by u.p. and didn't have my 1250 hours in cause I wasn't working

Denied a PL day said compensated layoffs exceed threshold. There isn't one person laid of compensated or uncompensated for that matter. So how many guys have to be on the board for there to be enough to actually get a PL day? Caller said it meets service unit layoffs. Since when does the whole service unit affect east west crews the other areas of our service unit have nothing to do with our extra board or pool?
