Due to high call volume at the end of the SMART-TD Voluntary Long-Term Disability Plan (“VDP”) Open enrollment. Smart TD has extended the Open Enrollment until August 20, 2021.
All members who have not enrolled are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to protect your income if you are off work due to an illness or injury.
New 2021 Member Offering: All members are pre-approved to enroll in up to $1,000 of monthly benefit without having to go through medical underwriting.
Additional Policy Details for the 2021 VDP Open Enrollment:
Benefit covers members on and off the job (24-hour coverage).
Benefit does not offset/pays in addition to all other benefits and is not subject to repayment upon FELA or personal injury settlement.
Benefits start paying after 180 days (6 months).
Members can retain coverage even if they are furloughed or suspended.
Enrolled members can increase their benefit each year by $400 per month guaranteed approved.
