Vacation Bids 2026

It is that time of the year again. Please go to CrewPro to enter your vacation bids in the system for 2026. Remember, we are using the Strict Seniority method which means we honor all bids in each split (seniority permitting) before moving on to the next employee. Please remember to put in enough bids to cover your request in case you cannot hold a week requested in each split. you can also put latest in the year at the end of your choices, just in case. EACH SPLIT MEANS YOU WANT TO SPLIT UP YOUR WEEKS (Example: I have 5 weeks I want to split up. I put 1 week in split with multiple choices to make that happen)

We have entered the EA1 Road vacations in the system, now it is up to the Carrier to put them into CMTS. We have attached a chart in the top of this post for your reference. The column furthest to the right (if applicable) shows who closed out the week based on the allocations allowed per week.

UP Demanding Documentation

Brothers and Sister,

We’ve received several reports from across the Committee of UP instructing our members in train service to submit medical documentation for the use of a single paid sick day that was not taken in conjunction with other leave. This issue is not confined to our Committee but is system wide.

If you work in train service & have been instructed to provide documentation for a single paid sick day (not taken in conjunction with other leave), please forward your information (date PS day was taken, message from UP, etc.) to L.C. Bakr ( localchairman577@yahoo.com ).  Our agreement is very clear about the requirements for providing documentation and we don’t want any abuse of the agreement by the Carrier to go unchecked.

We have issues with the Carrier using Uber to haul crews!


GC Edington enlisted the help of GCA 953 Secretary Aaron Stoppel to build a site where members can log issues and data can be collected. Below is a link and QR code to that site. Filling out a claim takes less than 2 minutes to complete. Please fill out as much information as you can. It's vital that all of you please log all Uber issues immediately. The information gathered will be shared with 953 SLDs so we can fight this issue as a team. 


We would like all of you to also fill out a safety hotline when tying up.


If you are not a member of 953, MOP Upper lines/SP West etc.,  please do not use the QR code or sight to report issues at this time as it is state specific.
