No Health Insurance

"The calls started coming in on Monday. Members of Go-953 and their families were being told that their Health Insurance was no longer in force. These were people from all locals, Conductors, and Engineers.


I immediately contacted both United Health Care and Iron Road to see what was going on. I checked with the General Committee to see what each person's work history was.


United Health Care contacting the UP and was told that the members did not have the starts for insurance. United Health Care investigated and what was found was about 1000 UP employees that had been told that they no longer had Health Insurance.


Each case is being investigated by UHC. If you know of any rails that are having insurance issues, either call UHC or wait until Thursday the 6th. All should be back to normal by then. Any claims can be resubmitted to be pai…

All members are required to have their current contact, email, phone & mailing address, on file with the Union. Contact your Local Union Secretary or another Local Union Officer with questions or updates.

Railroad uses court to stop union in Florida

TRO Issued to SMART-TD Members on CSX to Refrain from Self-Help

July 15, 2026


In response to an emergency motion filed by CSXT, on July 15, 2026, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division, entered a Temporary Restraining Order (“TRO”) in CSX Transportation, Inc. v. SMART-TD, Case No. 3:26-cv-01795-WWB-SJH. The Court directed “SMART-TD and its national and local officers to immediately initiate and undertake all reasonable efforts to prevent and discourage SMART-TD’s divisions, lodges, locals, officers, agents, employees, members, and all persons acting in concert with any of them from engaging in conduct prohibited by the TRO,” including by posting and distributing this notice.
