It is very important that you review the attached documents regarding the contract negotiations with METRA. We are giving you an example of what the Carrier has offered as an hourly pay. THIS IS NOT a "set in stone number. It shows you how it compares to the BLE&T pay.

There is also a document that explains what we would lose if we went with the hourly rate system.

Tomorrow, I will post a poll that the GCA will use for your direct input on how you want to proceed.

And we can buckle or give in we need to stick to our guns and if this takes time then we’ll get a back pay check let’s use the eng agreement as a yardstick and sadly see how they get screwed by this before we give up the ship for a few dollars the money will be there it’s all they have to offer there are no other perks they have to offer befire we sell out let’s be patient

Vote NO to the Hourly Proposal !

Metra wants to eliminate or modify all your current working agreements.

Metra wants the:

Elimination of deadhead pay for extra board employees protecting an outlying assignment.

Elimination of penalty payments associated with the movement of scheduled reporting time.

Elimination of bonus day payments on extra boards.

@Mike Moore GCA 953 my contract solution is both parties sign a seven year extension on the Transfer Agreement plus 5% raise per year. The biggest promplem is Metra handling CMS and timekeeping without the UPRR.

Auto Miles

As of 7/1 the federal auto miles rate is 76 cents per mile. Metra is still paying the old rate of 72.5 cents a mile.

Required Training Due

The Annual Ethics and Harassment & Discrimination Prevention Certifications are now available on Metra’s Training Portal and are required for all employees. The Remote Work Policy Training is also available and is required for only full-time and part-time, non-contract, exempt, and non-exempt employees. All required certifications and training must be completed by August 31, 2026.
