I just want to know if that line 2 means that they can combine the ea1 CFT and Wisconsin into one?

@Smart TD Local 577 you might know but is there transcripts from the arbitration process. It’s a government entity and we pay for the union why is there not more transparency in the process I’m not saying locally but in the general and national. I’m assuming there was a give and take for some of the arguments but I want to see what we were as SMART fighting for because I don’t understand how the whole furloughed employees ruling on something that was supposed to be on off days

How do we fall under the same attendance policy as someone who gets 11-4. At the end of the day all those guys who signatures were on this and tried to sell us this as a good thing should be voted out.

I was at the union meeting Monday night. I had to sit there and listen to the back and forth for about 20 min on this topic. It being such a pressing issue I would have assumed more of the 77 Metra members would have been there voicing their opinions but it was only brother Evenson. I’ve been to 2 meetings since the spilt one time it was only CFT members and Monday was majority. From what it sounds like Brother Evenson wanted stuff done instantly instead of going through the grieving process. Like our LCA could demand the carrier to do something and they would do it. Anyone who has been here for more than 6 months knows that’s not how it works. As much as I hate it too but that’s the cards we our dealt. Then brother Evenson was mad because he says there isn’t enough of a union presence. Like our local chairman sitting in the crew room will make the carrier act right. I always that was the point of have 3 vice locals Metra road and CFT so there was some representation in the yard. Now as for the less burdon is less expenses not when it’s salary maybe they save a couple bucks when they have to buy stamps but as far as the day to day the operation is the same. I have not always agreed with the union ( see the CFT group). But the LCA does a good job and has improved over the years. Now is not the time to split the membership or resources up.

I’m confused on the if we get a 4% raise in January 2026. Wouldn’t it be July 2026? Or will we get another raise in July? Or are they using that as excuse to only give us a 1 percent raise for 2026?

So this is more EA1 and northwestern 2 agreement not a CFT agreement? They were already getting it at west Chicago and they are paying it at Yard center so I would assume there has to be some sort of a agreement for those locations. Or does each yard need to have an Agreement in place which this agreement will now cover. Also what happens if people vote no. They can still order us to do it anyway and we don’t get paid for it.

Was there not one already? That’s part of the confusion the footboard position isn’t new? And what part of the agreement would they violate? It sounds like everything they would want?

Im just curious what’s the purpose of this now? Hasn’t there been a footboard at west Chicago for years? So this whole time it has been operating without a agreement or they are expanding the responsibilities without asking for more money?

Did we make changes to the Awts policy? Or do we still have the same shitty one in place where the company controls manpower and gives our membership a false sense of security. One day there can be 6 guys on it and the next day be cut to one without notice or reason

I've already talked to karl about this. It seemed it was only happening to a few of the youngest guys in the service unit. Now its happening to whoever gets bumped. They are not allowing you to exercise your senority and placing you immediately to a job. When I talked to Karl he mentioned that it came from the General Chairman that we dont have rights to a 24hr bump which it sounded like Karl didnt agree with. And with my 7 years here I have always been given 24hrs to make a move. Was told to put a claim in for restricting senority. Was hoping to see it in writing supporting either side. To either show where the carrier is getting it from. Or in favor of us getting a bump to help our members with the verbiage in our claims

Ok. When I'm bumped off a job and immediately forced to another job is that a claim also? Shouldn't I be entitled to a bump? Also what I'm getting from this is there is nothing than can be done I can be forced to 3 different jobs in 24hrs and never get a start and multiple people can work the job of their choice it its temporary vacant?

I just more curious if it's legal? I would prefer them to stop. But I know they are not. If not can I time slip them for everytime somebody younger than me is able to work? Or for every guy who is younger than me on the bump board. Technically they still on a senior board so it is a restriction of my senority
