Metra Safety Group
Metra has extended an invitation for our local and local 528 to come out to California Ave. Coach Yard to be involved in their monthly safety group. If you have any safety issues you like us to share, please post on here. There will be walk around California Ave. Coach Yard looking for any safety hazards that day as well. If you aware of any issues at Cal Ave., you can post that here too. Some issues that could be shared are train sets that need more cars, equipment issues that need to be addressed, trains that need more manpower, problem trains that have difficult passengers consistently on them, issues in yards such switches hard to throw, lighting out in yard or stations and platforms. Any facility concerns such as locker rooms, bathrooms, sleeping quarters etc... thank you for your help. First meeting is this Wednesday the 26th.
Metra wants a union officer from each local to attend. My apologies for not being clearer. This will be a gathering point for information we can share on your behalf.
