Additional paid Day

A new layoff status “AD” has been created to accommodate the Additional paid Day for 2023. This is a compensated status that TE&Y employees are entitled to use once per calendar year per the National Agreement. All TE&Y employees hired to date thru September 30, 2023 qualify for the additional paid day for use in calendar year 2023.

Eligible employees, regardless of their assignment, may elect to use this day for their birthday, as a personal leave day, or a single-day vacation. Request to use this additional paid day for birthdays must be made by 1/15/2023 through a TRM ticket to Timekeeping. Anyone not electing to use their birthday by 1/15 will default to a PL or sLV. The additional personal leave and single day can be requested through the AVR or EAMS and granted pending crew availability. (Currently, unavailable in the pre-arranged system).

The following new status and reason codes have been created for these paid days:

AD/BD – Additional Paid Day/Birthday

AD/PL – Additional Paid Day/Personal Leave

AD/LV – Additional Paid Day/Single Day Vacation
