When should housekeeping be done on locomotives?
I have been asked several times to "preform" I.e. things are running behind, and we need to get trains built as soon as I come on duty.
But then on the same day being reprimanded for not doing "housekeeping" on my locomotives first thing on my shift.
To my understanding that would be done when I daily the power, before the end of my tour of duty.
Just looking for some insight.

What do you mean when you say reprimanded? Were you given a COMMIT? What rule did they say you were in violation of? 31.2.1 and 31.8.1 are pretty clear. Did you do the daily inspection?
