Over the course of the last 3 days, I have received 17 Notices of investigation for employees not completing their online training. We are all adults, it is your responsibility to complete your required training. But, if you choose not to (for example) set a calander reminder on your phone and disregard the broadcast messages sent to you that the Carrier WILL produce at the hearing then that is your right. Just know this, it takes up a lot of valuable time trying to clear all this up. From phone calls to the Carrier and the member to gathering evidence to prepare a defense and emails back and forth, this is a terrible waste of resources while we are in the midst of staving off the large scale issues that we have NEVER seen before. Some of these issues include the Carrier's Strategic Organizing Plan (PSR), rampant furloughs, manpower shortages (self induced), training, safety, METRA takeover, COVID-19 (including Mandate), claims processing, discipline and working on getting your vacation lists fixed with the Carrier. We have a lot on our plate, I shouldn't have to chase you around to get your required training done. Please get your online training done, the Carrier is charging employees that fail to complete their training with rule 1.13 for failure to comply and they have evidence to bring to the hearing. They put out the broadcast messages so they can assert you had knowledge and blatantly disregarded their instructions.
