The link below for your consideration is a proposed agreement that would provide up to 4 weeks of paid time off to employees at Metra when they have a child or adopt a child. The GCA has already asked Metra if the time spent at Union Pacific would count for eligibility purposes. They haven’t responded yet, but I doubt it will be an issue. The GCA will get this clarified in a Letter of Understanding that will accompany the agreement if it ratifies. We had discussed this with Metra early on in negotiations but wasn’t able to get it finalized until now. This is a great benefit for any of our members who will be transferring to Metra.
