So here it is, my personal opinion. I resigned last month for one reason and one reason only. It effected my personal life more than I was willing to give. Period. End of story. For those spreading that I was overworked are spreading rumors and lies. I did what needed to be done and 90% was at no cost to the members. Every single day I was on the phone,working numbers, helping claims, reading agreements. 3-4 hours of my own time. The only days I was reimbursed was taking a WHOLE day to attend something specific. Like meetings or investigations or claims. Most people have NO idea how much time and effort is donated to get shit done. Calls daily at all hours, weekends and holidays, no exceptions. 3 am drunk calls from members. Hate calls. Physical threats of violence. Ya, all that shit is real. The dysfunctional relationship between the officers and the LCA is beyond rediculous. Too many personal agendas. Lack of accountability. You want to know where your money goes? Show up and find out. You want to know what is being done about this or that? Show up and find out. You want to see the dysfunction of the officers who stir up shit or don't intervene when it is happening? Show up and find out. It's your union and most of you sit behind the scenes and bitch without actually taking the steps needed to fix it. Where's your claims? Where is your statement to the FRA? Most of you won't put in the work to prove the carrier fucks us DAILY. To you who don't, you reap what you sow. If you do, the rest of the membership is screwing you. Their lack of effort just shows the carrier that collectively we don't care either. The carrier uses our own laziness against us in negotiations and we feed them more than they can eat. Hold you officers accountable. Each and every one of them. Ask where the money goes, ask if the records are correct and accurate, ask if the president is doing his job running the daily business. Ask the Local Chairman if he is performing the will of the membership. You can't do that from home though, you would have to actually show up.
