Deadhead
Why is it if we get called for yardcenter to Chicago heights we get a 2.5 hour call. Shouldn't it be still a 2 hour call they just have us on duty at 1.5 after to account for the deadhead. If we are called for proviso off or yard center we get the 3 hour call but we get put on duty in 2 for the deadhead. On a side note how are they allowed to put out a blanket time for the dead head for working at a away from home terminal? The way I understand the cfr you are supposed to claim either the time from your home to working terminal. Or the time from home terminal to working terminal. They are say we dont get paid for dead head. So at yard center they take away an hour of pay (half hour for coming and half hour for going) so they tell us to wait a half hour to tie up to account for that. But if I live 5 minutes away from the terminal they called me for I should have to sit around while still under hours of service to tie up. I know this is alot not expecting an immediate answer.
