Assigned Service
It is true, the BLE&T has served the required cancellation notice on the Carrier for the Assigned Service Agreement. I received word from Greg Vogel on the evening of 11/25/20. Yesterday being a holiday, I contacted the Associate General Chairman (Jerry Kalbfell)this morning and was told that the BLE&T had a meeting with Labor Relations and CMS. The issue was the inequitable Deadheading out of Clinton for specific individuals. From what I was told by Mr. Kalbfell, CMS told the BLE&T "if you don't like it, cancel the Agreement". Mr. Kalbfell also stated that SMART-TD is not serving a cancellation notice on the Carrier, but the Carrier is most likely to serve the cancellation notice on us. That is all the information that I have at this time, but as always, we will update you as we receive information.
