TE&Y COVID Vaccine shots/booster Guidance

Title: TE&Y COVID Vaccine shots/booster Guidance Update August 23,2021

Q:

How should T E & Y layoff when scheduling COVID vaccine shots/booster?

ANSWER:

1) Employees are encouraged to schedule on their own time, especially employees working on assigned(scheduled) jobs.

2) If working an "on call" (pool / extra board), employees are encouraged to use LV/PL days.Employees can reserve days through the Pre-Arranged System or call CMS to schedule at least 24 hrs inadvance of their vaccination appointment (not "at time of call"). CMS will do their best toaccommodate but will also need to cover business needs.

3) If the employee has not worked enough in the prior year to earn LV/PL or if the employee does notwant to take a LV/PL day, i.e., a paid leave day, then the employee can layoff PH (Layoff Physical)from CMS.

Note: PH will be for a preset period of 24 hour. Should an employee want to return to service before thefully elapsed period, the employee may mark-up sooner.

4) Leave coded as LV, PL or PH does not accumulate points in the Attendance Policy and is neutral forthe purpose of calculating "credit" points under the Attendance Policy for those that qualify.

5) If an employee experiences a severe allergic reaction after obtaining a COVID-19 vaccine, employees should:

5.1) Seek immediate emergency medical services

5.2) Notify their vaccination provider

5.3) Notify their healthcare provider

5.4) If under 48 hrs from receiving the shot and employee needs more time off, notify CMS whom willlay employee off up to an additional 24 hrs off (PL, LV or PH) (again this status does not accumulateattendance points)

5.5) If over 48 hrs from receiving the shot notify HMS whom will administer an intake process andplace the employee in HP status. (again this status does not accumulate attendance points and is alsoneutral for purposes of calculating “credit” points for those that qualify)

6) Upon mark-up from final vaccination, employees are encouraged to access LMS via the UPRRWebsite to select an apparel item. After you are fully vaccinated, be sure to participate in UP's VaccineIncentive Program. Search "Vaccine Incentive Program" on the Employees site for details.

Inappropriate use of PH layoff code, could result in termination of employment.
