You are not required to protect on these days so there is no need to answer the phone or log in to the UP website. So don't. If you answer (or log in) you are now beholden to that call to report for duty. The earnings from this non-protect start are above the Guaranteed earnings, don't let the timekeeper apply it towards Guarantee. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.
