No Health Insurance
"The calls started coming in on Monday. Members of Go-953 and their families were being told that their Health Insurance was no longer in force. These were people from all locals, Conductors, and Engineers.
I immediately contacted both United Health Care and Iron Road to see what was going on. I checked with the General Committee to see what each person's work history was.
United Health Care contacting the UP and was told that the members did not have the starts for insurance. United Health Care investigated and what was found was about 1000 UP employees that had been told that they no longer had Health Insurance.
Each case is being investigated by UHC. If you know of any rails that are having insurance issues, either call UHC or wait until Thursday the 6th. All should be back to normal by then. Any claims can be resubmitted to be paid. If you need any additional help, give me a call.
