Teamwork
When I was first introduced to the app I had to delete it because of the conflict amongst the team members we "should" be. Rather you have 40 years or 2 , the company feels that you're replaceable. I've gotten to know some of you and I've gotten to know some of you and there's a difference. If there's a way for the corporation to pin us against each other, they've done their job. Those of you that have been here beyond 15 years, you're not aware that the cost of living has increased apparently. I say this because you act as though the newer conductors have no right to cite their grievances. Maybe if you spoke out more often things would have been different years ago. I don't care if you have met me, know me or care about my complaints... All I ask is that you respect them. This goes for anyone that thinks this is towards them, respect my views and you're going to receive the same. On that note, many of you stayed in your marriage because you THOUGHT it was beneficial... You later learned that it wasn't worth your peace of mind. If you believe wholeheartedly that I am opposing any "Old Head", I want you to know I'm 48 and I'll be 49 shortly. I don't tell anyone younger than me how to view their situation, so I want you to remember that when you address me. None of you have signed my birth certificate, so be cautious how you respond to me. If you think my views and opinions are worthy of me quitting, how about you not respond to me. We're all adults and we all require being respected. Once you cross that line, disrespect has no boundaries or expiration date. If you think I'm here just for the paycheck, you're partially right. However, I've been applying since the early 2000's because I wanted to work for the railroad. I remember not having a car and riding Metra out to a banquet hall in West Chicago or something. I won't tell you why I don't think I didn't make the cut... But if I did, I'd have close to 30 years in. If you're close to retirement, please do us all a favor and leave when your time comes. That's because being money hungry just shows that you don't care about your brethren, you care about how much the company (UP) can pay you. I speak with peace and respect, but some of you have lost your touch on reality. Don't respond if you're offended, respond if you have a valid point of view.
