Metra wants to eliminate or modify all your current working agreements.
Metra wants the:
Elimination of deadhead pay for extra board employees protecting an outlying assignment.
Elimination of penalty payments associated with the movement of scheduled reporting time.
Elimination of bonus day payments on extra boards.
Elimination of guarantee/monthly build-up.
Eliminate of mileage to time pay computations.
Elimination of payments for switching equipment/extra moves /back-ups (outside the scope of the assignment).
Elimination of undisturbed rest on extra boards.
Elimination of Paid Sick Days for employees hired after the agreement takes effect.
Modification of penalty payment for working without a brakeman (reduced payment).
Modification of known vacancy provision – if 7 days or more, junior assigned to extra board is required to protect.
Modification of weekly vacation – reduced from 7 days to 6.
Modification meal period – reduce from 2 hours to 30 minutes.
Modification to extra board positioning – employees will be placed back to previous spot on the extra board upon mark-up from a layoff.
Modification to the discipline and time handling agreements – extending timelines.
Modification to assignments structure and rest days – Carrier will maintain discretion over assignments.
Modification to payout of banked personal leave days – reduced to 50%.
Combining seniority rosters across Metra.





@Mike Moore GCA 953 my contract solution is both parties sign a seven year extension on the Transfer Agreement plus 5% raise per year. The biggest promplem is Metra handling CMS and timekeeping without the UPRR.
