Memorandum of Understanding for temporary operations on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. The Understanding provides the following to our members in commuter operations:
Annulled Jobs-paid normal earnings of assignment
New one-day assignments-Passenger Conductor Rate of Pay for assignments worked plus 2 hours. The 2 hour payment is in addition to guarantee.
Lost earnings to any regular Conductor, Collector, or Swing Collector who is placed in FR due to working either date.
It should be noted that the BLE agreement does not include any additional compensation for their members. We encouraged UP to extend the same 2 hour payment to the BLE so our Brothers and Sisters working under their agreement can receive the same pay as the trainmen will be receiving. You will need to submit a non-service claim for the annulment under the make whole/lost earnings category.
Claiming normal earnings including Basic Day, Over-Miles, Overtime, Arbitrary payments and Daily Build-Up for (assignment) on (date) due to the Carrier running a Saturday schedule on Friday thereby annulling my assignment.
