Last night at G3 we had a conductor called off the extra board(NZ077, XK81) to cover MBEBE out of Belvidere(NR050) This employee called the manager and reported he was not qualified and needed a pilot. The manager(frustrated) told the employee that he could be reprimanded for not informing management that he is not qualified to cover all the jobs his extra board covers. The manager called CMS and had him removed from the Job and called a different employee off the NZ077 XK81 board. First, I thought we had an agreement that says the carrier must call the next closest terminals extra board if the home terminal is unavailable. This would not be G3. Do you know that agreement off hand so I can show it to local management? Second, there is a rule that says we must inform management if we aren't qualified for jobs covered by the extra board immediately, does this apply if your extra board is called for a job that is being used in supplement to cover an understaffed or burned board at another terminal? With managers now telling employees they could be reprimanded it would be great if we could get ahead of this so we don’t have tons of investigation for 1.13

It is officially a superintendent rule that all zones will be deactivated prior to trains entering. Additionally it is now the utility job's responsibility to keep a zone log, NOT the managers and NOT the RCOs. Please be mindful of the steps of reactivating your zones!!!! Activate the RCL zone(via job briefing or radio announcement) Verify all switches within the RCL zone. Sweep the entire zone (this means from the clearance mark in the bowl to the stop puck) Ensure the locomotive travels over the first zone puck and that the pullback is operational. ALL STEPS MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE RCO IS RELIEVED OF POINT PROTECTION!!!!!!!!

They posted a borrow out to Iowa and advertised an extra 151.92 a day. Is this the new normal again? No more $300 a day?

After talking with managers a G3 it seems as though they like the idea of the UTR and RCO repairing Bad Order cars in departing trains vs kicking them out and having a Carmen show up to repair them. Already we have employees that close container doors and replace brake shoes without being instructed. Would this be a claim or an outright violation for performing a task not part of our craft? I nor any employee I know of at G3 has received training on how to repair cars.

Does anyone know why the Railroad dropped my health coverage when I took FMLA for child bonding? I took 6 weeks FMLA. My coverage was dropped afterwards. Was I suppose to do something?

Attention to those in Proviso. Please use extra caution and follow all CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID. There was a situation that we are still looking into that happened on 11-8-20 involving a road crew and an engine. I have not been able to get a hold of anyone and none have returned my calls yet so let’s use EXTRA CAUTION and treat this as the worst case possible. If you feel ill call the nurse get checked out and keep yourself, your family, and your coworkers safe. If you have any information that is COVID related please call, text, email me. I want this current situation resolved and any future issues address as soon an I can. Jeff Grant Jeffgrnt1@aol.com 630-624-8880

Recently I missed called. I was awarded 15 points in the new attendance policy. I reviewed the policy and read that if I stay “fully marked up” I would be forgiven 7 points after 28 days. Well now I realize that taking a compensated day off is NOT being “fully marked up”. My 28 day count down restarted. Then I had a scheduled week of vacation. Which again restarted my count to 28 days. Will federal test restart the 28 days as well? How am I supposed to achieve “fully marked up” status? Please let me know if anyone else has run into this issue. I am going to put in a ticket to see what the company says about it and will let you know their response. As if the Attendance Policy wasn’t bad enough this has added a new level of evil in my opinion.

https://www.fra.dot.gov/blockedcrossings/ This is a link to report crossing that are blocked for extended periods of time. I’m ask everyone to just spread the information around. Tell your family, your neighbors or anyone you talk to just to make sure that they are aware of it. If you have a big social media presence posting it there would be appreciated.
